Engine in C8.R
I am not very knowledgeable about the C8.R, so I thought I would ask this question here. Is the engine that was in the now-retiring C8.R a version of the LT6 that is found in the new Z06?

Yes, called the LT6.R and rev limited to 7400rpm vs the production Z06 LT6's 8600rpm. Lower RPM translates to lower peak power, hence the LT6.R's 500hp to meet IMSA's BoP (Balance of Performance) regulations vs the production LT6's 670hp.
