Default Track Mode

What’s the deal with track mode and bent or damaged wheels. I occasionally run in track mode on tail of the dragon. Never have I had an issue

You are very lucky to have access to "The Tail of the Dragon". So I would guess you use Track-Mode once a month?
New England pretty much sucks for fun rides. I am sure there are some???
But like my Chevy Service Tech, C8 owner, Non-Z51, says...
"I drive with other C8 owners with Z51. I say to them, where do you think your going. I am right behind you"
On the street and even 'The Dragon', track mode won't leave any other C8 behind. It will just feel a little tighter.
What is the maximum average speed on the Dragon, 35? That is a fun 35mph!
You must have a fun day on the Dragon! YouTube videos are fun to watch. Too far away?
Best wishes.
Ron

I'm assuming you have MSRC. Using track mode on the street doesn't cause bent wheels and Tadge has stated that in writing.

I was taught in both the C7 and C8 Fellows class to never drive on Track mode on anywhere but a prepared Track. You risk suspension damage and wheel damage if on street. Sport is fine for open road. Now some here will poo poo that as BS, that GM is just protecting themselves, but remember they can check what driving modes you were operating in, if you try and make a warranty claim.

I figure if it was important enough to tell us in the driving class, it is pertinent and I adhere to it.

Ron, when it gets warmer, you can drive my Z51 since we live in the same neck of the woods. Then you can cry as you will need to trade your car in.

They likely told you that after they saw how you drive. They probably said to themselves, "We better save this guy from himself and help protect the general public". Just kidding, of course. I drive on Track mode every so often just to change things up. It's not THAT HARD. My performance Tesla feels harder. You want to see what hard feels like? Drive a Ford Focus RS on track mode... THAT is hard. I'd love to see where in the manual that GM states they'd deny warranty if we drove Track mode on the street.
