Default Spring Mountain - VIN Not Found?

Has anyone else had an issue registering for the 2-Day Stingray Owners School? Their system is coming back stating the VIN wasn't found. '23 70th AE HTC purchased 05 July 2023.

That’s a long number, have them read it back to you.

Mine did that, SM staff called GM and called me back a few days later and said I was good to go. I went to the class with no issues.

I tried to check my vin through their site. Nada. I called the main number and had to wait for sales to call me back. The sales team member said my vin wasn’t active in the system and asked if I was the orig owner. Yep, picked it up new in May 23.
They had to call GM to confirm my vin for the class. Came back as good to go!

From the day I called Spring Mountain to the day I paid for my class, my rep told me she was getting my VIN verified with GM. And this was weeks after I bought the car.
Give it a bit more time.

It takes a bit. As long as it shows up by class time you are fine. I booked my class as fast as my order went in. Once I got my serial number I called and provided it. They were then able to confirm. Spring Mountain just wants to ensure they get reimbursed.

Hopefully this will all get straightened out soon - from all reports the school is amazing.

Seems kind of strange that it has been since July that you have owned the car and the VIN is not registering. The suggestion on having them read the VIN back to you is a good idea.

Same happened to me. Call them and they will schedule as this happens regularly.

I was typing it in via their website. From other posters, it sounds like a disconnect between the school and GM.

Take a photo of the vin and email it to them. That should help with confirming it.

It happened to me also on a 70th addition HTC. I was told by the agent it happens about 50% of the time. I received an email in a couple of days that I was fully registered. Can’t wait to go 😀

Take the reigns and call them with your serial number and get it booked.

Spring Mountain doesn't manage that program for GM. GM just reimburses them for owners who attend. The program itself is managed by a third party vendor through a contract with GM. That's most likely where your problem lies.

I don't think so. I called directly to Spring Mountain sales. They booked with me providing the serial number. They confirm with GM. As long as you can provide proof, they take care of it. The classes are very booked and you only have one year, so book it asap.

I know so. I had some medical issues that kept me from going within the one year period. I called Spring Mountain and they were able to give me an extension - they just didn't tell me it was only a six month extension. I called them four months after my one year expired and was told that all of their classes were full through my six month extension and that I would have to wait and see if they had a cancellation. I explained that I didn't know my extension was only for six months or I would have called earlier but they couldn't help me. I sent Mary Barra - GM's CEO - an email asking her if they were really going to deny me a class because of medical reasons plus I sent her the doctor's notes that I had previously sent to Spring Mountain. The Manager of the department at Spring Mountain scheduling called me the next day to set up my class for me. She explained exactly what I posted - a third party manages the Owner's classes program for GM and Spring Mountain is only reimbursed by GM for owners who attend.

YEP! You have to call them--same issue with my 2021 C8 Stingray and my 2023 Z06.
