I live in Richmond, VA. I reliably see 2 C8’s in my local area. I tend to see a C8 every 3 weeks or so. One guy has a C8 in the area where I usually grab lunch. He’s always revving his engine up and down the street and I’d rather not be associated with him. There is a silver flare C8, I think the owner daily drives it because I see him coming from or leave in to work, but I’m usually in my truck. I have never been in close proximity to a C8 when I was in mine, but that all changed this weekend. My wife and I were running errands. I was at a 4 way intersection and across from me was a C8 that was turning left which would cross right in front of me. I told my wife “Look! I should wave” but then I thought…what does the wave look like????? I’ve never done one. It is a big wave from side to side? I know it’s not a royalty wave. Time was running short! The C8 started out and there was a younger guy with an older passenger. Maybe father and son. I froze!!!! Just as the C8 started to turn the old man, wearing shades, raised his hand, and then all at once raised his hand. I raised my hand all at once and he have me a head nod. Hell yeah, that was awesome!!!!!
I realize this was more like a hand raise. Is that cool, is there a certain way you do it? Are there any other rules/norms I should know about?
Anything but (no pun) mooning is legit... especially since it tends to happen so seldom, from my years of experience. I get more waves from non Vette drivers when in either of my Vettes.
If you look back in earlier Corvette lore somebody said holding up a finger - index finger that is - showing number one, corvettes are #1. But all the guys that used to do this are probably dead now, and maybe some C8 guys don't even know Corvettes were made in the 50s or 60s

I live in North Jersey were 95% of the time a wave is reciprocated. It seems the only ones that don't are "new younger" owners.
