Two things come to mind:
1. Why are you familiar with the sound of someone tapping on a hollow coconut? If these are friends, you need new friends!
2. I commend you for using your signals. My experience is that 70 to 80 % of drivers don't use their signals.
I totally agree. A recent passenger said: “is that why you got the z51 package? That must be the extra horsepower I’m hearing!”
it sounds like they sampled the coconuts from Monty Python! It’s comical…no pun intended.
I also agree it’s rubbery and awkward. Worst feeling switchgear in the car.
Android automotive is the worst thing GM has done to the Corvette and definitely deserves more ire than this, but I do notice it and it is a disappointment.
I love my 2024 Torch Red Stingray, I love driving it, the seats, the power, sound and even washing every beautiful curve and crease. The car is fantastic.
BUT.... the turn signal sound just bugs me. It sounds like someone tapping on a hollow coconut. Just sounds cheap and weak.
I don't know what I expected, maybe the Jetsons car sound? What sounds does a jet fighter make when the pilot uses their directional?
I know its stupid so back I go to enjoy my wonderful new car. Maybe I just won't use the turn signals. Millions of BMW owners can't all be wrong........
It’s the worst feeling switch action in any car I have ever owned. Your complaint is very valid. I’m driving my “all that and a bag of chips” super car.
I put the turn signal on and instantly the brain thinks “airport rental”. The last one they had. The **** box that you wouldn’t own under any circumstances. My in laws Hyundai has better switch gear.
Again, it’s valid complaint. Details matter and the tech is a disaster…
Don't worry, given GM's record of not learning from issues with prior versions, you can probably expect it quit at least intermittently after a short while. Ask C7 owners.
My primary complaint is the gas being on the drivers side, it’s miserable at gas stations with how wide the doors open. Also the horn is weak
The gas tank location on the drivers side combined with the ridiculous thickness of the doors is poor design. Pure and simple. The tank should be on the other side and the rear vents need to be contained in the rear quarter. Of course looking at the car makes you think it’s perfect…. Living with it is something else 🤣
I agree that it’s a minor annoyance. I think it’s louder than needed to be and would be nice to turn down. It’s the first comment my wife made when riding in it. She asked what the noise was🤣
Turn signals should have a downloaded sound. I am thinking Twinkle twinkle little ....
Or Time Warp: "Its just a turn to the right ...."
Great idea for Mary Barra to charge $5.99 per month for a downloadable sound. She puts in the worst sound as standard say like a fart as somebody mentioned. Then you have to pay $5.99 per month to change it. Okay folks you heard it here first. Don’t blame me. I’m just the one who compiled all of your great comments in to a new method for GM to use to dig further in to your wallets. Sam

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
