Default Wheel Adapters

A lot of you guys on here talking about putting 20 mm adapters behind the wheels to push them out flush with the fender lip but I don’t want to have to worry about flaps or chips so I don’t really want them to come out that far. Has anybody done say a 10 mm and if so, was it a noticeable difference.
at what point do I have to go from a spacer to an adapter?
I don’t want to have to grind on my studs.
Thanks, Bert

I have the 20mm installed, with GM splash guards that help, but the tires still kick up debris. Full length side skirt would provide better protection. Wheel stud modification not required on the Q9I, Q9A and 5DG wheels. But required on the Q8P, Q8Q, and Tridents. Not sure about the others. There are other size spacers… I think WeaponX sells 6mm and 11mm spacers.

If you go anything less than 20MM, you're wasting your time, and working for nothing! Also, most anything less than 20MM will be slip on rather than bolt on, which means you may not have enough stud length to properly thread your lug nuts onto, or a swap out for extended studs would be necessary. (Yet even more work!!) ... I have seen some bolt on 15MM spacers, but again .. anything less than 20MM isn't gonna deliver the aggressive stance that your looking for when you go for spacers in the beginning.

Also, I noticed another post you made about buying aftermarket black wheels. Almost all aftermarket wheels for the C8 will have a built in offset that pushes the stance outward to fill out the fender well much like spacers will. I said that, to say this .. Worrying about "flaps or chips" pretty much comes with the territory when you go with anything outside of the stock OEM wheels setup!
