I average 2-3 years life per car. There is always more fun or interesting on the horizon. I'm limited to six cars by garage space so when I want something new, someone has to go. I liken it to pigs at a trough, the least liked car has to go. I've had six Corvettes, none has lasted longer than two years.
This Z06 might be the exception. Cars like this aren't going to me made anymore. Might go into the collector class.
My last one I had for 15yrs. Plan on forever unless something unforseen (medical condition, economy goes in the dumper, government bans gasoline) has me selling it.
The next gen of Corvette will be two things. The cars will be defined by questionable digital interference. The invasion of my privacy. And loaded with subscription add on's. None are on my bucket list.
Probably 7-8 years, maybe longer. I don't really believe in forever cars (or forever homes...) and it'll be around until it's too annoying to maintain or I can make a significant upgrade.
Probably 3 years for me; and certainly no longer than the powertrain warranty.... I am not ever going to want to pay out of pocket for a new engine or trans on one of these.
Like most of the sports cars I have had in my life, I will get bored with it at some point and sell it.

Oooo...can you scream at those kids to get off my lawn while your at it?
Forever car. Only way my ER wouldn't be a forever car--is if the Zora turns out to be an ER cranked up to 11...in which case I might convince myself to trade up.
Sports cars come and go, and most are tepid rehashes of the same old dynamic replayed over and over. No, I don't care about a ragtop, F/R layout making < 500hp; there's seemingly thousands of makes/models that offer something that flavor. I wait until I find something I like--and I tend to hang onto it...which is why my list of cars owned is fairly short, including:
Bought a '95 in '03 and passed it along in '19
Bought a '99 in '15 and still use it as a DD in '24
Doubling mileage on a vehicle is common for me. At my rate, there's a good chance that the C8 infotainment skulduggery gets jailbroken before I get rid of mine. I don't really think about or care about warranties, transmission/powertrain issues, etc. This will be the first and possibly last time I buy a new vehicle. I've already paid for rebuilt transmissions, rebuilt engines, head gaskets, etc. If you aren't paying depreciation and/or financing...then these aren't major obstacles to overcome.
