When I hear from more then one owner state "I wouldn't own one without an extended warranty" it makes me wonder. May be reliable until it's not then sounds very expensive to fix.
Eh. This is an expensive and complicated machine. Extended warranties are like insurance. You never want to use it, but are glad to have it when needed.
I bought one with my 2015 F150 with the brand new 2.7L TT. It expired last summer. Never used it in 80k miles.
I JUST bought one for the C8, For a 84 month/56k miles/$0 ded GM Platinum for $1828. Mine is a 2021 covered until July for the 3/36, and of course the 5/60 power train. I know I essentially wasted a few months of coverage, but it was such a good deal (in my mind) that I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I do less than 6k per year, so it is nice to know that it will be under warranty for another 7 years.
Will I be upset if I never use the warranty? Nope. That means I have had an additional 7 years of trouble free driving.
