Default Swapping Seats?

I am looking to buy C8, either w/Z51 package or Z06, but I want the GT3 bucket seats. Are there issues swapping seats? In my Porsche realm that I’m more familiar with, switching from sofas to buckets usually require wiring harness and adapter.

If you buy a base Stingray you may not get the heated, cooled seats and then you won't have that when you swap the GT3's in.

there are no GT3 seats but if you are referring to the competition seats you can get it in all 3 trim levels

Ya, I’m coming from the Porsche realm, so learning the Vette world now, lol. I was at dealer just today checking out the different trim levels, guess there’s an option for competition bucket seats, and they seem pretty good, comfortable.

but have people here swapped or pushed any after market seats?

and can you add 6pt harness to the bucket seats?

From what I have heard thus far, the dealership had to "correct" the error codes from swapping seats. The guy who did it was swapping like for like--just colors were changing. I would assume that swapping from GT to Comp seats would be similar.

And yes, if you have GT1 seats that you swap to Comp, you will not get all the 2/3 LT/LZ functions out of the Comp seats. I asked about this specifically for people ordering a 1LZ, if the Comp seats were a workaround solution to get full seat functionality--and this appears to not be the case.

Well I haven't found any factory C8 anchor points to attach a 5~6pt harness to.... though can be a trackable car it needs a few driver additions + modifications for safety & handling.

At the Ron Fellows school, they had those wearable half Hans setup, worked well, but still, rather get 6pt. What recommendations do you have to make these modifications for safety and handling?

The most basic is: 1) switch to a High Temp brake fluid; 2) perform a track wheel alignment; 3) installing the OEM rear brake cooling scoops (from GM); and installing the front radiator grill guards (from GM). Additional mods would include: 1) Lightweight brake rotors such as GiroDisc; 2) Forged (stronger) wheel rims with a wider off-set; 3) Sticky track dedicated tires; 4) Switch to a more free-flow exhaust (if legally allowed in your state) along w/ scavenging headers. And so you go down the endless slippery slope of 'improvements'....
But probably your best bet & your highest reward will come from hiring a good race driving instructor to ride along w/you.

Have you done these? Do you track? I see you’re in SD, are there any good shops down there that can do these?
