I'm wondering if there is any increase in intake sound? That would be another bonus.
Minimal. I didn't keep my AB long and found the upgrade to a full intake to be a much better mod. If I were dead set on just doing a drop-in again I'd opt for the cheaper and better fitting K&N and call it a day.

FYI….not so great results for the K&N intake. Test results show excessive air turbulence causing excessive mixture adjustments due to irregular air flow.

Agreed on their intake not being ideal, but I was referring to just their drop-in replacement for the factory air box. Their drop-in has a nice center divider similar to the OEM design (which is where I think aFe & Green could have done better on their drop-ins).
Its being fought. But until then these companies selling bogus filters, still use the Attack Blue name and or pictures of actual Attack Blue filters and or AB's test results... It's unbelievable. Some have been knocked out. A few remaining.
HOWEVER West coast Corvettes/Camaro and SR1 Performance are legit. Stick with them you can't go wrong.
You can also see these legit distributors have over 100 positive reviews vs those thieves, 0 or 1 negative..
Feel free to contact them or us if you have any questions...

Doesn't the oil on the K&N filter eventually find it's way to the mass air sensor?
I've had, tho not a K&N but rather a GREEN filter that is essentially the same as, in my FiST for over 10 years now and never had an issue with the MAS.
Can they be over oiled and cause problems? Sure. But do they always? No. All it takes is a bit of care when refurbishing the filter. I find it best to have a couple so that one can sit for a few thousand miles after cleaning before installation.
Why over pay for an air filter that you have to run the revs up to 5 grand to gain 5-8hp. Not worth abusing the car for the extra money. That why I stayed with the stock air filter
I got one of the cheaper 40 dollar ones on Amazon - I put it in and it went pretty smoothly- no dyno testing but it’s just a air filter honestly and to pay a additional 360$ for a brand name seems silly to me- I’ve put on plenty air filters over the years on different cars this one seemed fine and the fit was good.
