Default PTM Availability

Just got back from Ron Fellow COS and one of the instructors said if you have mag ride you have PTM (Performance Traction Managment). I have a 23 3LT with mag ride and performance exhaust and do not have PTM. So I'm curious if earlier non-Z51's with mag ride have PTM. I also wonder if Z51's without mag ride have PTM?

To check with the car in maintenance mode or running in park Settings > Vehicle > Performance Drive Settings > Z Mode. if PTM is on that page you have PTM.

Check if you have PTM.

This isn't the first time the COS instructors have provided misinformation. They are great driving instructors but not quite the best at the technical stuff.

The only way to get PTM is have both Z51 and MSRC. PTM requires an eLSD but I don't know why MSRC is required. I can only guess that it needs to have the ability to control the suspension during corner exit.

I kind of figured that but just wanted to check to see.

2020 Mag Ride was not available stand alone. Had to have Z51 option first. I wish it had been available stand alone. Would love to have had it.

The poll does not account for cars with PTM e.g., Z51 (eDif) and MRC

The only way to get PTM is Z51 w/mag ride.

I have PTM with a 2020 Z51 with Mag Ride, but nowhere to check on the poll. Just saying.

By the way love the PTM

The only correct answer is not available in the poll. As others have stated you only have PTM if you have a Z51 with Mag Ride. Interestingly, there are 3 members that report having PTM without Mag Ride which is not possible.

From the 2023 Online Order/Reference Guide (prior years were identical):
B4Z Performance Traction Management
1 - Included and only available with (FE4) Z51 performance suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control.
FE4 Suspension, Z51 performance with Magnetic Selective Ride Control, includes (B4Z) Performance Traction Management
1 - Requires (Z51) Z51 Performance Package.

You need BOTH a Z51 (the eLSD) and Mag Ride to get PTM on the C8s. Period. No matter what any poll tells you.

The accelerometers on the suspension with mag ride provide additional inputs that make PTM on the C8 more sophisticated than on the C7 (which didn't have accelerometers at all. Only suspension position sensors.)

The poll is worse than incomplete. It is totally wrong. PTM is ONLY on Z51's WITH MAG RIDE. The only correct answer isn't even a choice. Year is irrelevant.
