Windshield Replacement

Recently traded my 2014 for a used 2023. I have noticed several scratches on the inside of the windshield. I'm thinking the only way for this to happen is that someone had the windshield tinted and scratched it up using a razor blade when it was removed. Dealer will not work with me. My fault for not noticing it. Can only tell when the sun hits certain spots. I want to replace it with an OEM windshield, but was just quoted $2,050 installed by a auto glass shop in Houston. This seems really high. What's the going cost to replace the windshield with OEM?

Check with Safelite; I’ve used them for 4 replacements over the last few years and their work has been indistinguishable from factory.

Just ask for factory glass, although with the HUD that’s most probably what they would use regardless.

Safelite replaced my cracked '21 shield with OEM. The cost of the glass was between 1000 - 1100, and a couple hundred buck in labor.

Before you replace your windshield, make sure it doesn't have window film on the inside. They may have put a UV blocking film on it.

Safelight installed two windshields wrong on my other vehicle and they cracked. Maybe it's my local shop but they are incompetent. I'd never use them again.
