Default 2 year Service Help

I just looked and and the manual and I can NOT find where it says that anything HAS TO BE DONE AT 2 YEARS to the DCT (7500 I understand
So what other than the oil and filter(yearly) has to be done to the DCT at 2 years and where does it say so to my detractors I'd like to never have to ask this question again

DCT service is based on mileage and/or the life monitor that can be viewed on the display. There are additional requirements based on track hours. You have two years to use the free oil change and DCT service that Chevy provides. From what I have read the life monitor will drop requiring a DCT service at the three year mark regardless of mileage.

In short, even if you have not reached 7500 miles I would highly suggest using the free service.

There is NO technical requirement to have the DCT filter changed in 2 years. Assuming you don't track your car, the requirement in the manual is the first DCT filter change is at 7500 miles. The +/-500 mile tolerance on the 7500 interval is per GM bulletins and the 2024 owner's manual. If it takes you 10 years to hit 7500 miles then you can wait 10 years for your first DCT filter change and you will meet the requirement. However, if you bought your car new and you want have the first DCT filter change done FREE then it must be done within 2 years even if you haven't hit 7500 miles yet. The 2 year requirement is only to have it done FREE.

The first free service information isn't in the owner's manual. It is from your window sticker, documentation given to you by the dealer, Chevrolet warranty information for your car on the Chevrolet website, etc. when you purchase a new car from a dealer. If you purchased a used car you still may be eligible for a free service depending on if it hasn't already been used and it hasn't exceeded 2 years since the car was first put into service.

The only maintenance item with a 2 year schedule is the passenger compartment air filter (24 months or 22,500 miles).

Perhaps you are thinking of the expiration time for claiming the free service, which is 24 months, and unlimited miles. But that expiration time has nothing to do with the maintenance intervals specified in the manual. It is only the time you have to claim your free service. The free service does include and oil change and the DCT filter change (not a fluid change). And the dealer has only a single one-time warranty charge for that service - so the dealer cannot bill GM for the free oil change on one visit, and then bill GM for a DCT filter change on a different service visit.

AGAIN if there is no requirement for the DCT at 2 years why does it get referenced every time I ask the question in your response you said the DCT filter change while talking about the 2 year interval. DOES THE FILTER NEED TO BE CHANGED AT THE 2 YEAR INTERVAL

Thanks AndyBump

I thought the answers were pretty clear, there is no time interval for DCT service it is all mileage based. 7500 filter change, then fluid check at 22500 then every 22500 I believe (I dont recall if they replace filter and oil at all these 22500 mile intervals though). The only 2 year correlation is what others have said, GM will do a free service including oil and DCT filter in 2 years whether you reach the mileage restraints or not. If you do this early, you need to do it again on your dime at the stated intervals.

Walter, you are going in circles I think. The 2 years gets mentioned because you keep asking about it, in this and other threads. No one ever said you needed a 2 year service, with the exception of the passenger compartment air filter.

You have two years to claim your free service which is a combined DCT filter change and engine oil/filter change. The time limit does not match the service requirement.

Over and over, everyone tells you:
The DCT filter needs to be changed between 7000-8000 miles regardless of time, and regardless of if it was done earlier.
Your engine oil needs to be change at least once a year when the Oil LIfe System tell you to change it - which will be at least once a year if not sooner.
Fluid is changed at least every three years, or 45000 miles or when the fluid life system says so, or every 24 hours of track use.
The passenger compartment filter is recommended for change at 2 years or 22,500 miles.
