I have searched and found many threads on this topic, but didn't fully get all the answers I needed so thoughts I'd frame a few questions so I install these the best way.
EOS 5VM chin spoiler and side skirts in Carbon Flash. The chin spoiler has pre-drilled holes where 20 of the OEM screws that hold the stock chin spoiler go. I plan to clean mounting area, use 3M adhesive promoter, 3M VHB double sided tape and the 20 screws. That seems like an easy install.
For the side skirts I'm more concerned. I plan to clean, apply 3M adhesive promoter and the same 3M VHB double sided tape to as many contact arears as I can. After that I have a few questions. The kit came with a few rivets (not enough) but I could buy more no problem, but it also came with screws. I've seen install videos where some have used screws, but most use rivets. The screws are a lot easier to use and remove. What are the downsides of using screws? If I go the rivet route I need 3/16" rivets right? How many did each of you use on each side?
Since there is no bolt connecting the winglet to the rear of the rocker like the OEM 5VM skirts I was curious if anyone has had issues with the EOS side skirts separating from the car where the double sided tape was.
Do not use tape on the front splitter, the 20 screws is all you need. As far as the side skirts 3m double sided tape will not keep it in place, while turning into drives the body flex's and it will pop loose over time.

OK, that makes front splitter install extremely easy/
For the side skirts I plan to use screws or rivets on the bottom side. Are you saying the side adhesion will not last long term even with the use of rivets or screws on the bottom?
I would read the install manual all the way to the end before changing parts or doing things differently. You may not realize what things are for or how it goes together.

The install instructions are barebones and my method mentioned above follows those instructions. In addition there are several install video's online. My questions are for those that have installed them and their experiences so I don't make mistakes they have or I can employ best practices that could very well be better than the install instructions EOS provided.

I installed the 5 VM myself. Mine didn’t even have the holes on the side skirts so I had to drill on the skirts and thru the car. I used rivets and the double side tape. First time using a rivet gun, not difficult at all. I bought my own rivets and the double side tape, didn’t like the type that came with the skirts.

Thanks. This is the firsthand experience I was looking for. How long have you had yours installed and have they held up well?

You'll enjoy my How To Install Side Skirts PDF. Have two pages on rivets, what to use, what not too (like the ones with steel "mandrels" that came with my aftermarket side skirts and pulled thru the composite rocker panels.) Get rivets with alumimum mandrels (320 lbs to break versus 520 lbs for the same size aluminum rivets with steel mandrel.) You'll see I used 6 rivets per side as that is what were predrilled in the skirts as received. http://netwelding.com/Side_Skirts.pdf
Rivets supplied with my Side Skirts had steel mandrels. Checking, they took 520 lbs to break. That was too much and the rivet pulled through the composite rocker panel! I used the same size rivet BUT with an aluminum mandrel where breaking force is only 320 lbs. Worked fine! I had to drill another hole next to the one that pulled out and install an rivet with an aluminum mandrel.
