Windshield Camera
A friend of mine that has a ‘24, put a banner across the top of his windshield. The next time he drove it he got a message saying that ‘part of the safety system was not available and the windshield needed to be cleaned.’ How is that camera part of the safety system? Thanks.

2024s have a camera that is located behind the rearview mirror, at the very top of the windshield. This camera is used for the safety systems to include Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Brake Assist, and Forward Collision Alert, amongst other things.

At first, I received messages that my windshield needed cleaning when it was perfectly clean. Then, I started getting messages that the "Lane Keeping Assist" wasn't available. I also realized that camera was not recording my drives.
When operating, the LKA didn't keep the car in the center of the lane, it only activated when the car would veer left or right. That could have been a result of the faulty camera? My Honda has it and it keeps the car centered.
Has anyone experienced this?
I'm waiting for a replacement windshield camera...

LKA on the Corvette will NOT keep the car centered in the lane. It will nudge the steering wheel back towards the center if you wander over the lane markings, but it is NOTE intended to automatically center and steer the vehicle.
