What's the best way to remove 3M Double Sided Tape ? This is the rubber/foam type tape used to adhere accessories like the GM or ACS extended rockers to the car.
Thanks,
DFA
Yeah, many options, but kromdon said all you need at the outset above. I've done thusly on every vehicle I've owned for many years. (btw, I had 3M Adhesive Remover dull paint once, so beware and test anything where it doesn't show to be safe) All the best!
so on a mustang a few years ago, I was trying to remove tape residue from a rear respoiler that I took off. I had goo gone and 3m adhesive remover. I was spraying the 3m remover liberally, and the mist migrated over to a rear plastic tail light lens, that it instantly turned cloudy. That’s why I like goo gone, I’ve never had a surface that it has discolored, no matter whether it’s metal, plastic , paint, etc. etc. it takes a little bit longer but all you do is wait and let it marinate then it comes right off. I just used it last week to takeoff the rear black fish, worked perfect, left absolutely no effect.
The 3M stripe off wheel is very effective and quick.
Might be on the aggressive side for some but if used carefully, it's amazing and won't damage the paint.
