I never said there was a stated requirement for the 2nd filter change to be +/- 500 miles of 22,500.. The requirement was that the second DCT filter change be 15,000 miles AFTER the first. And if the owner did the first change at the prescrribed mileage of 7,000 to 8,000 miles, then adding 15,000 miles to that specific range example, would require a DCT filter change at the sum of adding 15,000 to the mileage when the first filter was replaced, which will be between 22,000 and 23,000 miles. As an example, if the owner changed the filter at 7,400 miles then the next change would be due at 22,400 miles. It is fair to assume that one could be over by 500 miles when that second service is done and not have to worry about it affecting the warranty status. At least, I would not worry about it. I am curious if the OP will be getting the DCT filter replaced for the third time at 15,000 miles past the second service' mileage.
With the exception of the first DCT filter change, doing early service is routine and widely accepted. If he did the 2nd DCT filter change early, he can just do the next one at the same interval from the last that the service requires. GM hasn't even hinted that if you do the 2nd change early you need to do it again around 22.5K. Don't read into policies things that aren't there.
I made a post right after this one about first year C-4's having electrical issues and it was removed for being off topic...I disagree with that decision.

Up Date, discussed my issue with dealer yesterday and the brief explanation is there is nothing they can do other than read the codes which I have already done. They can only go to make repair if they can duplicate the condition which is not possible now because the car continues to operate correctly. I will just have to for awhile be careful not to put myself in a parking situation that requires reverse should it happen again. If I ever have the problem again I will revive this thread. One final item, the service advisor who is assigned C8 intake exclusively has never seen this reverse problem and they service quite a number of C8s. Thanks to all that had input.

Fingers crossed that it was just a momentary glitch! I think we've seen some reports of reverse and other gear lockouts in some of the transmission issue threads - definitely keep notes and document all these interactions with the dealer so you'll be prepared if and when something else goes wrong.
