Front camera worked yesterday but not today. Rear works fine as does front PDR. Tried the 90 sec. drivers door open reboot and no help. Any ideas? Thanks.
If you feel a little shy then take it to the dealer.
Ok so, I noticed that fuse #36 also protects the soft close frunk. I thought to test this I would simply open the frunk and if it wouldn't soft close, this would confirm that #36 was blown. I opened it and it would not power close. I there any way to close the frunk now?????? Help.
Thanks. Any one have any idea as to the amperage of fuse #36?
By your frunk's soft close being inoperable it sounds like it's "probably" a blown fuse. "IF" the fuse is blown then it blew for a reason. Just me, even that the fuse access would be a breeze for me to get to, I'd probably take it to the dealer for the resolution. If there's a short in the system the dealer would be a better course of action.
Thanks Master Chief for a great Video! My first 12 years was in the USN.
OK every one. Are you ready for this? Decided to go to the dealer in person, who I have never dealt with, to sort this problem out face to face. Too easy to get neglected or put on hold over the phone. Also decided to start the car to see it there were any codes before going. Started the car and message said front hood ajar. Got out of the car, pressed the latch under the headlight while pulling up on the hood AND IT OPENED! So next ,what the hell, let's see if this baby will close. Yup, smooth as a baby's bottom. Back in the car and back up camera AND CURBSIDE CAMERA WORKS!
Computer reset? Self healing C8? Who knows?
I do know this. If the curbside camera stops working, I will not try to open the frunk AND I will schedule an appointment with a dealer ASAP.
878 miles on my new C8 delivered January 2 and so far the only glitch.
Thanks everybody for you thoughts, concerns, and advice. This is truly a great forum!
I had a problem with my car last week and I tried everything including the door reboot and nothing worked. I didn't want to disconnect the battery because I didn't want to remove the stored codes and CEL but I remembered someone on here said let it sit overnight to go into a "deep" sleep mode. Next day all was fine, the CEL and appropriate code were gone and car was fine. We have to remember these cars are rolling computers. In the OP's case something triggered the BCM and now is all fine.

Someone said the C8 is a computer with sports car tendencies

You can manually push down on it to close it. I was shown this when I took delivery of my '24. If you push too far, the soft close feature will not trigger and you just push down on it more to close it.

Maybe so, but I don’t believe that was the issue with my front lid as I also had the curbside camera issue.
