Polyaspartic is the new kid on the block, and for good reason. Epoxy vs. polyaspartic is really only a battle because of the vast benefits and perks you get from going polyaspartic. It takes a lot to dethrone something that’s been around for as long as epoxy coatings have been, but you can rest assured knowing that these high-quality coatings are the right one for your garage floor. The perks of polyaspartic floor coverings include:
  • Durability – These coatings are extra durable, providing scratch resistance that won’t chip or scuff.
  • Temperature Resistance – Polyaspartic resists temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Fast Curing – Polyaspartic coatings cure fast, lasting almost five times as long as the competition.
  • UV-Resistance – If your garage gets a lot of sunlight, polyaspartic coatings are the perfect option to avoid wear and tear.
  • Long Lasting – Polyaspartic floors soak into the concrete to provide a longer-lasting and quality bonding.
  • Low VOCs – Polyaspartic coatings won’t release many odors or volatile compounds, giving you an environmentally friendly solution.
  • Decorate Your Coating – With plenty of decorative options, polyaspartic coatings have designs fit for all homeowners.
If it only "resists temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit", doesn't that pretty much eliminate the upper half of the country?

Also, I did a little research on this product. Unlike the list of bullet selling points above, this product too, has its drawbacks. Easy to google.

Do it before you move ANYTHING into the house. Once you move in, it won't get done...

This is sage advice. The floor delayed our move by a week, but if we had started the move first, the floor was - no way.

Swisstrax floor tiles for me, pretty much indestructible, comes in many different color choices, & the individual tiles are replaceable once installed

If its your forever home, epoxy for sure, if you think you may pick up and move in a few years, racedeck or swisstracks (you can always take it with you)

I used the Rustoleum garage floor coating and it held up well until I put new tires on one of the vehicles and then under the tires it started to peel.

No, I definitely do not sell this. I compared several different flooring materials before buying for myself. My 2-car garage was about $3,300. You have to wait 3 days to drive on it and it takes several weeks for the smell to go away. But after a while it's undetectable.

The temperature listed in the copy may be incorrect as it gets PLENTY cold here in Cinci. I have an electric grill in my garage and use it throughout the winter -- with me often walking in my garage only wearing socks on my feet. This flooring (along with others) seals the moisture out so the floor is significantly warmer than just concrete alone. I think the installers said they used about 70 lbs of flakes in the flooring.

I threw down vinyl sheet flooring that comes in a roll. $50 from someone on craigslist who had extra from a project. Super quick to install. I didn't glue it down so there is some lifting in certain areas, but still looks 10x better than bare concrete, cleans/sweeps easier, and feels better on the feet to walk around.

5 layer granite chip epoxy coating professionally done....my garage is 38 x 22....I think it was about $1,100 5 years ago....still holding up great. I've only had to clean it maybe 4 times in all that time....2 coats of clear on top of the 3 other layers...

I voted 'naked'. Not a fan of tiles or epoxy. Epoxy looks good *for a while* then gets scuffed & chipped. I like stained, sealed, lightly textured CONCRETE.

Floor looks great! That's a pretty deep two car. Is it a Shea by chance? I say that BC we had a Shea home in Encanterra (East of you) and our model had a similar very deep two car.

I have used epoxy kits in the past on other garages and really had no issues with them but for this home I had it professionally done. Grind new concrete, fill expansion joints, polyaspartic coating with full chip. Would be my recommendation.

It's actually a double tandem 4 car garage. I park 2 RX350's back to back in it along side my C8 and my wife's treadmill on the right side...these are Taylor Morrison homes. Beautiful to look at but built like crap....

Back when I had my 17 GS....plenty of room...
