Find another competent body shop and have them take a look at it. IMO, there should be some adjustments that could be made to get the panels to line up better.

Looks like the door as a whole needs to be adjusted upwards (basing that on the corner right above the door handle assembly not lining up). There's not really any room for adjustment in the door handle or boomerang trim. the door handle is held by screws above, so if those are tightened properly, it's as high as it is going to get. The boomerang might have ~1mm of adjustment room due to the diameter of the mounting holes, but not enough to cover the distance shown.
