If it's a Stingray you'll have a wide variety of tires to choose from, 19"front 20" rear, the oem tires are probably the best runflats you can get, but there's better tires out there.
If you get a Z06 or E-Ray, the 20" front 21" rear sizes you're pretty much stuck with the oem offerings.
I would stick with Michelin run flat tires, it's not any fun at all being on the side of the road trying to patch a tire with a compressor & a tire plug kit

Runflat tires have made significant progress over the years.
+2 for Discount Tire, they are professional and don't charge a Corvette Tax... oh did I mention they fix flats for free. I have to drive 75 miles to the nearest Discount Tire and it's worth the drive. And I only use OEM Michelin run flats on my Corvette.
Your car, put on anything you wish that fits correctly. In the early days of runflats many of us quickly ditched them because they were terrible in all respects, apart from... well, running a while when flat. Even the C5 Z06 came out from the factory on non-runflats. But, today's RFs are so much better I (like many) continue to run them without great concern. Your call. All the best.
Good post. The simple answer to his question is no, you don't, but I like your answer better.

The car was designed for these tires, and these tires were designed for the car.
Is it possible to get better grip? Sure, Is it possible to get better ride? Maybe, Is is possible to get greater wear? Uh Huh,
Every aspect of every car is a compromise. . but the tries that came with car are the best all around
As someone mentioned you can install any tire you want that fits and the manufacturers (car manufacturers) do develop and test their cars with specific tires designed to work as part of the suspension. For example break away when cornering at the limit. All cars but especially cars like the corvette are pushed passed the limit to try and give the driver a predictable controlled response when pushed past the limit of available traction.
911’s are very “tire dependent” in terms of grip management when driven at the limits.
I still prefer non-run flats because:
I don’t tend to travel far from home.
Have not had a flat in many years.
The C8’s TPMS it tells you if you are losing air on any particular wheel.
Non Run Flats are significantly lighter
Non Run Flats are cheaper
With non run flats you give up the security of being able get home without worry if you pick up a nail however no tire is fool proof. If you tear the sidewall of any tire you aren’t going anywhere.
On the cars that I don’t use run flats I keep a can of fix a flat in the trunk but the reality is in 45 years of driving I have never had to change a tire on the side of the road or get towed because of a flat or get stranded. And many of those years were before cell phones.
Based on the posts I’m seeing a lot of people prefer the security run flats provide and while I think non-run flats are still the better tire they have improved to the point that most if not all of us can’t tell the difference behind the wheel.
