Waste of money. When your detector indicates a paint, you are already caught.
You couldnt be more wrong. Keys to not getting a speeding ticket are being aware of your surroundings, having a good radar detector and understanding its alerts, and not being the “Hero” speeder. Radar detectors detect the source radar gun many times the range at which it will lock your speed.
Instant on radar is a different story, but if you’re paying attention to your RD, you’ll lokely receive intermittent strong hits of Ka band radar.
Figure out what is important to you. I like arrows for situational awareness and will choose better filtering over longest range. I like Valentine One but there are better detectors if you don't want to run an app.
Seems like this question is asked every week in a new post. This site should promote the search function or create a sticker on radar detectors. But to answer the OPs question, the one that I have is the best.
So... I recently did a cross country and back trip. Crowd Sourced Alerts gave me a heads up usually long before the radar detector. BUT .. the times CSA was not first would have likely resulted in being stopped by the constabulary. SO...

To be fair the search function on this board is marginal at best. I find it easier to put my question in Google and the threads on here always show up.

Agreed. Always select the Google option when searching. It will almost always bring up the posts on this site. But, like I said, it seems like this same question comes up every week. Almost seems liek someone is trolling.
I don't know what one is the best I think it varies from one person to another but my VALENTINE ONE bought in 1992 still works for me so it's the best. I don't know if one has been invented to go off before that guy hits you with the beam if there is one then to me that's the best.
