Default Windshield sunshade

Does anyone recommend a custom fit windshield shade? I returned a unit from Pigenius which was pretty thick (a bit cumbersome to put on) and didn’t fit perfectly, in my opinion.

Got my front windshield tinted with a clear tint. No need for a shade. Get more heat thru the roof than thru any of the windows.

Being in AZ I bought the one that Costco sells on sale now for $9.95 in size large. It fits the C8 very well and folds very small and stores nicely behind the passengers seat.

I bought this:
Amazon Amazon

I do have to pull it up behind the visors slightly but any larger and I don't know where I'd put it in the car. This one can fit behind the seat.

I'm using Coverking. It's a rollup that can be folded and bent enough to store behind the passenger seat if you leave it forward a little bit. The way it is cut it fits good inside the trim but then the visors can't reach it to hold it in place. I pull it up a bit so the visors and mirror can hold it in place at the top but then it has a gap at the bottom. However the forward portion of the dash is all metal so that doesn't bother me. There are some that use suction cups to hold it in place but I didn't want to deal with that.

I only buy CoverCraft for all my vehicles they are custom designed for each vehicle because no car is alike. Yes they cost more but they worth it especially if you live in really hot states.

https://www.covercraft.com/c/sunscreens

Benefits:
Custom Patterned for a Perfectly Fits the Windshield
Triple Laminate Construction
Thick Foam Insulator Core
Reflects Damaging UV Rays
Dramatically Reduces Heat Build Up….yes it does!
Sleek Look
Elegant Black Binding
Compact Accordion Fold Design….when not using it and driving with no passenger I place it between the passenger seat and door. I can still reach it from the driver seat. When a passenger is aboard I place it in the net in the rear storage area.

Tsigwing——what is a “clear tint”? I’m planning to get my windows tinted but don’t want to be driving blind in the evening. I just want a windshield tint to block the UV rays. Your clarification is appreciated.

I use “Air80” made by Lumar, I believe. It’s a clear ceramic tint film that blocks UV. My eye glasses will not transition in my vehicles. It helps immensely at reducing interior temps.

You need to block the IR. The windshield already blocks 96% of the UV:

I would not buy anything other than Covercraft. Great product. I also get my front window tinted with 70%, does not make night time darker but blocks enough of the AZ sun I can drive without sunglasses and the interior is protected.

It does not fit well. It is exactly the size of the windshield, but it's too short to be supported by anything and it looks weird because it does not hold in place.
On the other hand, it is just small enough to fit behind the head rests when I drive (I have the LCD mirror so I don't need to see through the window) so at least it does not get in the way. This is actually appreciated because the cabin is otherwise pretty small.

Overall, it does the job and I can store it fairly conveniently when not in use but does not look great.

I use the CoverCraft one on my C7 and used one on my C5s before. Great fit and works well to block out the sun/heat.

Cover craft is a good product but for over $100 I’m not feeling the love. I have this one, and at half the cost it does just as good a job and fits the windshield perfectly.

You say you just bought it. Online or in a store? I don't see any $9.95 sunshades for sale at Costco.

This is who tinted my windows:Since the windshield or possibly a panoramic sunroof are the largest entry points for solar heat, we recommend you apply UV/IR blocking film on those areas. Tritek Tinting can install a CLEAR UV blocking window film using XPEL’s PRIME XR PLUS 80 that will keep your vehicle much cooler and keep your vehicle legal.

BENEFITS OF WINDSHIELD AND PANORAMIC SUNROOF UV/IR BLOCKING FILM

  • Rejects Up to 96% of the Sun’s Infrared Heat and harmful UV light
  • Legal type of windshield film
  • Eliminates the Need for using annoying sun shades
  • Maintains a clear field of vision
