Default July 4th week shut down

Does anyone know when the BG plant shuts down for the week of July 4th does that mean they stop shipping cars that were produced the week before as well, or is it literally just the assembly line that shuts down for the whole week?

My build week is June 24 so I'm just wondering if my Z06 will be sitting an extra week due to the holiday.

Traditionally, shipping does not stop when the plant is closed. No information if this time is different for some odd reason...

I would plan on not much happening the 4th of July week… For those that live in the North that week is a big vacation week… the Summer is sooooo short….

I would hope that shipping would continue that week, would be great for those awaiting their car. I could see no shipping on July 4th.

I think that would depend if the GM employees who release the cars to Jack Cooper are union employees or not. I’m sure that shutdown week is a contractual agreement but it doesn’t stop GM from requiring managers (non union) to work if they release the cars for shipping to Jack Cooper.

I worked in the transportation industry for 35+ years. We never had a shutdown week.
