Default Driver's seat memory function HELP...

OK new C8 owner here (1 day)

I have a C7. Seats are set to memory for driver 1 & 2. And both set for exit position when door is opened.
Get in C7 push starter button ONCE and the seat moves into driving position. Push start button again to start car.

C8...set the memory for driver and also exit position when door is opened.
BUT....Now the car has to be started (push starter button and hold brake pedal).
The exit function works fine.

The problem is that to start the car from the seat exit position means a stretch of the leg (for brake) and arm (for starter button), well for me anyways.

Is there a way to have the seat move into driver's position PRIOR to starting the car (Brake & Button)?......okay I know if I HOLD the position "1" button it will move the seat but I'm looking for a quick one push and it moves (like the C7).

Thanks

Congrats on the new C8!!

Unfortunately, you have to hold the button to manually recall a seat position. See here from the Owner's Manual:

I'm not very tall. I set the "exit position" as far back as I can but still able to reach the brake pedal with a slight stretch. . .Sure the seat the has more backward movement, but then I'd experience what you do. ..

Dang. So innovation went backwards. I guess I just need to get used to it.
Thanks.

Yeah I hear yah! Just got a new 2025, and after coming from a C5, when you put the key in the ignition, (not starting the engine) the car wakes up and the seat and steering wheel move to driving position, after setting up the new C8 memory seat functions, I tried to wake the car up by pushing the start button only but nothing happens with the seat and steering wheel to move to driving position...but when you depress the brake pedal and start the engine, then the steering wheel and seat move to driving position....if you get in the car, and push the memory button on the door panel, the seat and steering wheel will move to driving position provided you HOLD the button in for completed movement of the seat and steering wheel....

Hats off to the GM Engineering team that clearly has no history or experience with the previous Vette generation that have great seats/wheel memory functions...
Anyone going to the NCM Bash in April? this would be a great question to pose>> I sure would like to hear from the GM Engineering team, their rational as to why you need to start the car to move the seat and steering wheel to driving position.
As the original poster stated, the seat exit function starts and works upon opening the door.

Mine works as same as my C7. Push the starter button once and seat, steering wheel, mirrors all move into Driver 1 position.
It took a while but I got it to work. Play with it. It will function as you want.

What do you mean play with it, it'll function as you want. Mine seems to randomly decide not to return and occasionally only go halfway. It functions properly probably 70% of the time. I even tried resetting it to a different position. I had the same BS seat issues in my C6. I never understood how they still have these problems. My 2008 CTS used to work flawlessly. I never had a memory seat issue

In the C8, with your foot off the brake, press and release the start button. The memory positions will function every time. Then press start with your foot on the brake to start the car.

The other alternative is to start the car and press and hold the memory #1 or #2.

In addition, if you want to start the car in stealth mode to avoid waking up your neighbors. Press and hold the start button for 7 seconds with your foot off the brake. Do not set the memory mode and with seat belts off. The car will go into service mode. Use the mode switch and place the car in weather mode. The car will start in stealth mode every time.

I'll give that a try, but it doesn't make sense that it would work ever time without stepping on the brake but only work sometimes when starting it.

Appreciate all the CF members chiming in on this thread as owners are experiencing different ways their cars are performing the memory recall function.

My ride is a 2025, and the only way to get the memory recall function to work is to press and hold the memory recall button, OR depress the brake pedal and start the engine. this is in line with the operating instructions in the 2025 owners manual...I know Chevy is monitoring CF, I would like to tag them for comments...

I have the same issue - sometimes upon vehicle start, it only goes halfway to driving position. I haven’t been able to track down a cause/reliable reproduction of the issue yet

Make sure that you have enabled "Auto seat memory entry/exit" in the DIC settings.

I have noticed that if I’m pushing back against the seat while settling my but in while it’s moving stops the seat I suppose to keep too much pressure off of the motor . I’ve never tried to press the button with no brake to see if the seat adjusts to memory but definitely going to try

^^^ THIS. It's not hard to make the seat motion stop before it reaches the programmed position. Lighten up on the pressure place on the brake pedal and steering wheel.

If you are pressing on the seat/wheel while they are moving, you will over current the motor and it will stop.

Can I have auto exit enabled for the passenger seat? I don't want it for the driver seat so I assume I can just not set an exit button position but for the passenger, can I make it auto exit upon putting the car in Park or shutting off the engine? My wife is destroying the side bolsters and forgets to press and hold the exit button sometimes....

Mine continues to randomly work. I don't push hard on the brake pedal but regardless, sometimes it literally does nothing.
