When using the QuickJack 5000TLX on a C8, does the label go toward the front or back of the car? Most pics I see on the forum have the label toward the front of the car, I vaguely recall some saying the label should be toward the back of the car since its a mid-engine and 60% of the weight is at the rear of the car.
In their documentation, Quickjack recommends the label goes toward the front of the vehicle.
When I got mine, I called them and their recommendation was to put the label toward the "heavy" end of the vehicle, so for the C8, toward the rear. The guy did say it really didn't matter, it would lift the vehicle safely no matter the orientation.
I put my label towards the front of the car just because of where I have the QJ pump and hoses, and the fact that I usually pull my C8 in front-forward. If I back into the garage then it is toward the rear of the car. The 5000TLX doesn't care if you use the correct lift points. It is stable and solid either way.
If the car is supposedly balanced as far as the center of gravity, what would it matter? I always place mine with the hoses going forward, no matter what I'm lifting. I think if it was important they would provide more details on how to position it for a lift.
[/QUYes, I put the rollers on and they are great on the floor.
The real problem was lifting them up onto the Quick Jack hooks on the wall so I put an electric winch system from the ceiling to lift them onto the hooks and it's easy peasy now.
Did you do the roller mod to make them easier to move around?
I did, any just leave them on the floor and park over them.

I could not agree more they are a bitch to put on the hook and for that matter move around.
The manual states to put the label facing front UNLESS the engine is in the rear and has a drawing of a Porsche. So label to the rear. With that said I missed that the first time and had them in the front and all went well.
