I dont have my C8 yet so can only go by vid observations. What I see is when using launch mode you have a slower acceleration of the line then just mashing the gas. It looks like launch mode stops any and all wheel spin and bogs the start. Am I seeing this correctly?
Read up on how launch control works. It uses RPM, clutch, throttle, and other factors to manage wheel spin off the line. When it "bogs at the start" that the car giving what it think is the most power it can without lighting the tires up. You'll still get some spin, but it stops a full burnout. The better the surface and better condition and temp of your tires, the more power it can give and the less it will bog. Most public roads aren't in any condition to give a great launch so a lot of videos you see get some bog as you put it.
If you just floor it, the car has an incredible blast of speed and is very impressive because first gear is so low.
My best 0-60 time was 3.5
In Launch mode, wow, maybe it looks like it bogs, but after a few attempts it ran a 2.8.
Floor it or Launch it, both feel very impressive. It may spin the tires with either mode.
They feel the same inside the car but Launch mode is .5 seconds faster.
