This standard was originated in June 2020.
It was first approved by the Materials - Fuels, Fluids and Lubricants GSSLT in January 2021.
It was first published in February 2021.

for the following standards
dexos 2 (GMW16177 version 08-2010, 04-2011, 11-2016, 11-2022) - SAE Grades 0W-30, 5W-30, 0W-40, 5W-40
dexos R (GMW18299 version 02-2021, 02-2023) - SAE Grade XW-40 (0W-40, 5W-40)

exactly same requirements are in SAE J300 Viscosity Grades For Engine Oils and ACEA C3 Engine Oils
minimum HTHS Viscosity (mPa.s) @ 150°C ≥3.5 for SAE 40 Grades (ASTM D4683, ASTM D4741, ASTM 4851 or CEC L-36-90)
