Default Rear View Mirror blinking off intermitantly

Looked around on here and all I saw was comments bout blue screens and flickering headlights. Get the blue screen is a significant problem and the flickering is the refresh rate and frequency of the lights I'm viewing. My issue is sometimes the screen blinks off or extremely dim for a second or two then goes back to acting normal. I have not seen this occur at night and have only noticed it during full daylight driving. Any thoughts or experiences with your C8 mirror behaving in this manor? I do have a full warranty but know when I take it in the problem won't occur and it's so random I can't catch a pic of it happening.

I've seen the rearview mirror camera malfunction due to heat, sometimes caused by running uncoated bare aftermarket headers. Any unprotected mods in your engine bay? Extended time parked under the summer sun?

GoPro or laptop with a camera connected, mounted so it's pointed at the problem mirror. Start recording, go for a drive and see if you can catch the issue on video.

Car is bone stock and shouldn't have any abnormal heat issues. It's in the garage most of the time, was out for a drive today and did it twice. I'll try to capture it doing it's thing but more than anything wanted to verify it's not a common known issue. If it's not I'll be making a trip to dealer soon and if nothing else, start a complaint record on it. Appreciate the thoughts and tips. My wife dailys the car and I hardly drive it so my info is second hand. Except when we r in it together and "see, it's doing it again! Fix it!"😅🤣😂

Make it the dealer's problem. I had an issue on my C7 where they literally just drove it around for hundreds of miles before finally identifying it. At least they filled the tank 🤣

I drive in 110/114 degree ambient temperatures and have never had an issue.....even after parking outdoors for some time.

Any chance it's happening when you go under an overpass and the light gets much dimmer?

114F ambient is my max thus far too, and I have headers + cats + exhaust...zero issues!

I thought about a light sensor and shadows but haven't corellated malfunction with that. If I was having issues with that then would expect other folks to experience also. Next stop dealer!

In my wife's car I threw a piece of mail up on the dash. The displays were dark when I started the car. I thought something was wrong with them until I figured out that I had covered the light sensor.

Mine started with only an occasional top Pic for a few seconds. Thought perhaps a bad connection, tried with bumps etc. No correlation.

The time got longer and Blue screen started. Dealer tech replaced camera, and all was fine for ~2 years before I sold it.

Same problem, I have a HTC and drive it with the top down the vast majority of the time with the camera off by "design," will take it to the dealer eventually.
