Default Console release button.

My console release button has been acting kind of wonky. Sometimes is stiff or hard to push in, other times it works fine, one time it popped out of the slot. Is there a remedy?

Others have reported similar issues. I would have it resolved under warranty. Good luck

There have been other reports of this issue. Mine was the same way and I got it to pop out enough to just pull it out. There are two prongs on the sides that hold it in that I bent outward a little and have had no issues since.

Thanks, I went to the dealer this morning and they have ordered the part. I will try your fix when I get the new part. I replaced the latch on my C6 two times and when I sold it the latch was broken, but because the lid was held down by gravity, I didn't replace it a third time.

There are other threads on this that might help.
Mine went from having the button just sticking out too far to now the button is all in and I have to physically pry the lid open. I will get it fixed under warranty but prefer to do it at the first oil change and/or seatbelt recall fix.

I agree - just have the dealer fix it under warranty - provided you have a competent dealer. If not a good dealer, find one that is.

An "Advanced search" here will disclose others' issues with it. I wouldn't hold my breath getting a warranty replacement, though. But, good luck with it.
