Default engine compartment light

I ordered this on my 2025 zo6 which is at 3000. Can anyone explain the function? Is this light able to be illuminated to show off engine compartment?

They put a small puck light on either side of the engine... it's not an impressive amount of light, either. Some of the custom solutions people here have detailed are 10x better than GM's. The fact that you get the wiring harness pre-installed is a good thing, though... you can get rid of their puck lights and install something custom (read, better!) without as much wiring hassle as folks who don't have the harness.

Would anyone who has swapped out such pucks care to link to what they retrofitted that was better? Thanks in advance.

Haven't seen the factory engine light package but if it is truly not up to par, getting the harness and then adding better LED lighting would be a good thing.
