I have a C8 Corvette 5.5 L and my dipstick looks like the attached pic when I pull it out. In the manual that shows it for the 6.2 L not the C8. I had my first oil change done at the dealer. When I checked it when I got home, it showed it in the middle cross hatched. Does that mean it’s full?

The bottom of the cross hatched area says ADD 1 Quart. So from the Bottom to Top is of cross hatched area is 1 quart. If you are 1/2 way that is fine. The MAX TOP is just that MAX. It does NOT say keep filled to this level! Been the same for my C7s etc.
The Cautions as they always have say IF over the MAX level remove! Unfortunately some think this if some is good more must be better! NOT!
this is all personal choice, but to reduce the windage a little little bit, I believe in keeping the oil level directly in the middle of the crosshatch. That is not completely full, but not completely empty. I just don’t like extremes…
Like Glenn said...with every Porsche that had a dry sump 1/2 fill between the upper and lower mark....too much (as in full up) and you'd get oil in your intake (breather/vacuum hose in the intake for emissions) ...not sure if the issue arises in the C8

Yep in a wet sump. But not in a dry sump. My 2020 C8 didn't burn any significant oil between annual oil changes.
Recently checked my E-Ray that is 6 months old ~2500 miles. When at operating temp the oil level was ~1/4 inch from Top max, as I recall. The cross hatched area is 2 inches long. It's at about a 45 degree angle in the dry sump tank. So 2 inches = 32 oz, therefor 1/4 inch = 4 oz. So I was 4 oz under Max!
For fun I checked with engine cold but running. It was ~1/2 inch under Top Max. MUST be at 175 F to get accurate reading!
PS: I agree with prb, excess oil can possibly go into the Intake manifold thru the PCV Vent. BTW this is an old Pic. I think the oil level is higher than shown. It may be inside that black tube so splashing does not affect level reading??
