Default Z06 available

I was looking for a 24 Z06 last fall. After checking with several dealers, the best I found was $25,000 over sticker and a 2+ year wait. so I traded my C7 Z06 for a 24 stingray.
yeaterday that dealer that sold me the stingray called and said he has a new Z06 on the floor and is asking “sticker.” Its torch red, 3Lt, carbon fiber package, convertible, red/black interior.
its in the Minneapolis area. If anyone is interested, pm me and I’ll give you a phone contact.

Hi Dale,

I’ve been looking at the forum for a while and just joined. I’ve been debating between a C7 Z06 or a C8 (a C8 Z06 is a little more than I need or would want to drive regularly).

Can you tell me a little about your experience with both cars? I’m sure they’re both excellent in their own way. Just curious what you would say about them.

I would have just sent you a DM but this is literally my first post and I can’t DM yet. Thanks for any thoughts.

I had a C6 and C7 z06. Both manual transmissions. The C7 was 650 HP and a beast. It was very fast and a blast to drive. I do not track my cars, but I “drive” them.
My 24 stingray has far less power, and is an automatic transmission of course. The shifting of the automatic transmission is so fast, it’s difficult to know it unless you’re watching the tach. Having said that, I still like a manual transmission in a sports car.
The C8 stingray is quite a different car than my previous Z06s. It handles better, rides better, and the road noise and the cabin is much less.
As much as I wanted another Z06, it’s hard for me to think the cost spread is worth it. Maybe if I drove a Z06, I might say different. I figure the spread on my now used (2400 miles) 24 SR coupe vs the convertible Z06 that’s loaded would be $80 grand or so. I don’t want a Z06 that bad.

Thanks, Dale. Exactly the firsthand experience I was looking for. If I go with the C7 Z06 it would definitely be the M7. I miss the stick. I’ll back out now so as not to highjack your thread further. Nice of you to share this Z06 availability.

In terms of availability, new Z06's are almost EVERYWHERE at MSRP or below...

It's such a turn off when dealers ask so much over MSRP and then a short time later they're at MSRP or a good discount off of MSRP.

At this point a new C8 Z06 should start at $5k UNDER MSRP….. minimum. They are no longer rare or hard to find.
