Default Trans filter and fluid question

So my new to me 22 C8 has 6800 miles on it. It was bought new in Dec 21, so its just about at its 3 year mark. Im going on a long trip in a week and want the DCT filter and fluid changed.
The dealer said they can reset the DCT service at the 6800 mile reading and it will not come on at 7500 miles. Is this correct,?I thought they could not reset it without it showing the service DCT soon message.
the sevice is in 3 days so I can add some miles if need be, I just dont want the message popping up on my trip which will be about 1800 miles.

There is nothing that will pop up. When they change the filter & fluid the monitors will be reset and you're good to go.

Put 200 more miles on. The 7500 mile service is required to maintain warranty and needs to be done within the 7 - 8K mileage range. If I was within 200 miles of the factory service requirement I would just put them on to stay within the range for that service.

Your 2022 does not even have a transmission fluid filter life system. That is the only system that would have notified you of the need to change your filter, (which must be done between 7000-8000 miles even if done earlier). That transmission fluid filter life system feature was not added until 2023. Your car does have a transmission filter life system, which, unfortunately, experience has shown does not track time, and will not indicate the need to change the fluid at 3 years, even though the fluid must be changed at least every three years regardless of mileage. So, you are not going to get a notice to change fluid, or filter in the next few miles or months no matter what you do.

A message popping up would not be my concern. My concern would be to stay in compliance with the maintenance requirements.
DCT external canister filter must be changed between 7000-8000 miles even if done earlier, then at 22,500, then every 22,500 miles after, or every 24 hours of track use even if done earlier.

DCT fluid must be changed when the fluid life monitor say so, or every 45,000 miles, or at least every three years, or every 24 hours of track use. There is no requirement to change the fluid and filter at the same time unless the triggers happen to be coincident.

Engine oil when the oil life monitor says so, and at least once per year.

To answer your other question - the fluid life system and oil life system can be reset any time - and it will assume the service was done and start over. The filter life system, if you had one which you do not, can also be reset early - forum reports suggest that after the first reset, it will go another 22,500 miles - there is a thread about that.

My main concern is to stay within warranty.

So you need to have the DCT fluid and filter service done within the 7000 - 8000 mile requirement.

Yep, for other than $20,000 to replace DCT I'd say 6800 miles would be enough. BUT why take any chance! As suggested, put 200 miles on the car before bringing it in! The official policy reiterated for 4+ years is IF the DCT filter is changed before 7000 miles (very narrow range, 7500+/- 500) it MUST be changed again before 8000 miles!

Now some may say no issue with 6800 miles BUT ask if they will put $20,000 in Escrow just in case!

I just had my three year DCT fluid change at 7200 miles. I had to make an appointment with my dealer just to make sure they had what they needed. My dealer’s service advisors are long time employees and are well versed on the C8 but when I checked in for my appointment I noticed the advisor who was checking me in had a new one year of service award on the counter. I had to school him on what the maintenance schedule called for while another advisor next to him was smiling. Lesson learned. My dealer did a great job. I still had 52% DCT fluid life.

^^^
Yep the DCT Fluid life on my 2020 C8 said about the same when I had it changed year 3 AS REQUIRED in all year C8s as a minimum. Some of the additives have a time dependent life and require changing minimum every 3 years.

As others have said, get it to 7,000 miles before the service. Make sure they at least check the engine air cleaner, especially if you live in a dusty area. You can easily do it yourself but check it nonetheless. This is my filter at 3 years and 6,936 miles in AZ.

Manual says inspect, and replace if necessary.

Went for a nice ride last night and got it to 7000 miles. So no worries now. I just hope they actually do what needs to be done.
