I noticed the audio sound on my convertible changes significantly when putting the top down and up. The sound changes and volume seems to increase when putting down, then reverts when going up. Is this a setting in the Bose I have turned on or something else? Not sure I like the function or not yet, curious as to how it happens and if I can control it.
Yes, that's how it works as the system adjusts for the top down condition. I don't believe you can shut that off. There is a noise compensation feature (Bose AudioPilot) that you can shut off, but I don't believe turning that off impacts the top down compensation.
It is also mentioned in the manual. But it is not explained. I have experimented with it. Whatever it is doing, it is different from any of the available adjustments in the audio menu. And it cannot be disabled. I have assumed that the intent of this adjustment is to compensate for the difference between the top-up and top down cabin accoustic. But I do not know.
I suspect it's raising the volume of the high frequencies to compensate, somewhat, for wind noise. You can try raising the treble in the settings, but that will raise it even more when you put the top down. It's probably doing more than that, anyway.
I've never seen any way to override the settings to use the top down configuration when it's up. Or vice versa.
