Has anyone here actually bought an ex Ron Fellows car from D&C and had problems? What kind of results were had on big problems like the trans?
In the last 10 years I’ve had one car longer than four years and one will reach four in very early ‘25. All the rest are usually turned after about 2.5, so being an ex Spring Hill car doesn’t really worry me if the second party warranty is good. If after 2 - 3 years I still like it, I’ll consider a very late C8 or early C9 if they’re out yet. I can always just keep the track prepped C5 Z06 that’s been around for more than four years but doesn’t count because a friend is half owner now.
When my wife and I were at the C7 owner’s school there she asked the lead instructor if they sold their cars. He told us that they ship them to a dealer in California but also said that he would never buy one. If you’ve ever been to that school those cars are beat on every single time they are driven. They are well maintained but he told us that the dealer they ship them to doesn’t knock much off the price.
Someone may correct me if anything has changed but having been to two schools there I wouldn’t buy one.
I wouldn't buy one if the plan is for more track usage. As a cruiser, I think it's a pretty decent deal. Current prices are not too bad for 3LT Z51 cars.
I wouldn't say the cars are beat on.; I'd say used for the intended purpose. ;-)

Basically the same info. Was there 2 weeks ago. Lead Instructor (Justin J.) told us they turn them in at Chevy dealer they use to service the vehicles with around 10K miles on them. The dealer goes through them thoroughly and replaces the obvious tires, brakes, changes out fluids and puts a street alignment back on them. His explanation was the cars were designed to be tracked and as long as they are properly maintained should not have issues. Many of the cars have full Xpel PPF on them. He told us about one customer who knew someone higher up at Spring Mountain that insisted on being notified when "his" car he drove at Owners School was going to be taken out of fleet use and purchased it form the dealer. I personally would not even think of buying one given how they are flogged on a daily basis.
