Not that I've done all that often but I've found that I get it into launch control in Z mode. I've never tried it any other way.

The only way I know to enter Launch Control is through Competitive Mode in Sport or Track on non-Z51. On Z51 cars I believe it can be accessed through Competitive Mode in Sport or through the PTM modes in Track. Not clear to me in the owner's manual how to use PTM to turn on Launch Control

you’re there. It doesn’t say launch control or anything.

put the car into PTM mode by pressing the traction control button twice, give it a half a second between presses or it won’t register.

it comes up ptm wet, you can now use the selector to choose one of the track modes if you wanted, you don’t need to. Any one will work.

stand on brake with left foot. Stand on gas with right food. 3500 rpms will lock in, let go the brake.

Simple, easiest way is to go to Sport Mode, stop, wheels straight/steering wheel centered, one click on Traction Control switch. Put screen on 0-60, brake to the floor, gas to the floor, wait 2-3 sec, then go. I consistently get 2.9 sec, occasionally 2.8 sec 0-60. I love it!

It’s the opposite for me. I can only do launch control in Track Mode. I’ve tried many times to do it from Z Mode and it never goes into launch code from that mode.

Seems like it should be much easier to get it into launch control.

You have to have one of the PTM modes programmed for Z mode. Then you can press the Z mode button twice to enter launch control with whichever PTM mode you programmed.

In my 2020 Z51, the setting you noted above, IS Launch control. At that point, just press the brake pedal HARD and hold it.... floor the gas pedal all the way to the floor and the tach will go up to 3500 rpm. Take your foot off the brake quickly and you're on your way. You can also flip through the screens by using the steering wheel buttons on the right side to it says Performance 0-60

Mine doesn't ever have something that says "Launch Control".

I don't believe I can have it set to use with Z mode in a 2020.

Yep, that is what I used on my best, lowest number. Pressed Z-Mode twice.

Can see in Dash Test Display, Z-Mode set to PMT: Dry
