2024 Console Latch Button Fixed

New part came in and the dealer installed it today. Operates like a normal console button now. No idea what the code number (PIC & PI) mean on my copy, but a dealer should be able to interpret the info given to have it fixed if it's broken or popping out like many have experienced. Maybe this info. can help somebody.

Mine still pops out and GM is buying back my car! Well, not for that reason but if I was going to keep it I would definitely have this replaced.

My 2024 is at the dealer today for 7,500 mile oil change, oil and transmission filters.
My latch is sticking and I have to push hard to open. They will replace.
Passenger mirror glass loose, seatbelt recall, etc.

It's not listed on the invoice. Would have been nice. Didn't notice till I got home, but apparently there are GM repair/rework instructions outlining the procedure and part for the tech. Any Chevy dealer service dept should be able to read the PIC ior PI numbers to get the info.

From the countless other threads, this will be the exact same part # as it's always been. High likelihood the problem will return.

See the other thread on this topic. Some people have had luck heating the plastic catch pieces with a heat gun and popping it back in. Seems to hold.

Also, I had mine replacd and now push the button in each time I close the console lid to reduce stress on the part.
