Default Headlight Condensation

So my local dealership insists that this condensation in both of my headlights is normal. Does anyone know of any TSB related to this issue?

Can't be normal. Take it somewhere else. It's like condensation between double window panes on your house. If sealed properly it won't be inside between the windows. Same applies to a "sealed" beam style head light.

That should not be a normal occurrence. The headlights are sealed and that should prevent water from getting in there.

When I had my C8 in Florida earlier this year, I noticed condensation in one of my headlights, just like the OP. It was gone the next day, and I haven't seen it since. I attributed it to the high humidity in Florida.

I would say not normal, I live in FL and have never had condensation inside my headlights. Go to another dealer.

I think it depends, while ours appear sealed most systems have a venting system or check valve of some type. The fact that both are equal in condensate says to me its a location issue or extreme set of environment humidity etc. Both being equal say both failed exactly the same way at the same time which is a probability issue. I had a BMW with Condensation issues but it was one light not venting / drying while the other was dry. There were some small duck bill valves were the issue but the fix was replace the whole housing.

Later during hurricane season when the BMW sat both lights did get some vapor inside but it was equal and both lights dried out cleanly when the weather returned to normal. I would give it a day or so in good weather to clear

My headlights were replaced under warranty for condensation a couple of months ago. Per the dealer (Stingray Chevrolet), if the condensation dries and leaves streaks/runs/spotting, GM will replace them. Attached pictures were sent to GM or the replacement approval.

Mine were also replaced with the same problem. Thats an issue with the internal coating dripping down not a condensation problem.

So it was sent to GM for approval but the dealer states that since they were not able to reproduce it and only have the pictures they might not approve the replacement. I told them when it happens again I'll take it in while the water is still there.

I just realized that I have condensation in my c8 headlights so I researched It. There is a fan to keep the light cool but the temp varies between in and out of glass so thats how condensation comes in. So today I used a heat gun to warm up the glass and turned the lights on for about ten minutes and all the condensation left. Because I drive mostly in the day with no lights on it doesn't get a chance to evaporate.
