Kind of kills the idea of exposing the engine compartment if it’s just a piece of plastic! Makes sense if you are ACTUALLY looking at the engine (i.e. Ferrari). Most exposed engine cars do so because the engine compartment itself is a work of art!

Take the cover off and you find the plastic intake plenum. Many consider it unattractive. It could have been stylized by GM instead of covered with the ornamental cover. The intake plenum on the Z06 is stylized, and is not covered.
