The first thing I did when I got home was remove the dealer installed GPS tracker spliced onto the OBD2 port. I also replaced the plastic from lip with a 1VM CF lip from Paragon Perfomance. I read on the forum that Helm may not be getting the 2024 service manual, so I bought a 2021 service manual on USB stick.

The car is a joy to drive. I am only at 600 miles so still not fully run-in and thus not hard driving. The GT2 seat are very comfortable. I can feel the car more than the M4. Possibly the only knock on the C8 is that it's body is not very stiff compared to the 40,000 NM/degree of the M4. But having a production car out of the box with downforce is remarkable.
At 500 miles (yes, I am one of those that tends to over maintain), I changed the oil, filter and DCT filter. A lot of discussion on jacking the car. I raised one side of the rear with a floor jack on the jacking puck. Once the car was raised to the height I wanted, I put a second floor jack just in front of the jacking puck at the round transport hole with a small wooden block between the jack pad and frame. Removed the first floor jack and slid in a jack stand under the jacking puck with a rubber jacking pad for BMW's between the jack stand and jacking puck. I repeated this on the other side. Then I raised one side of the front the same way, with the second floor jack just aft of the first. Removed the first floor jack and put in a jack stand. Repeated on the other side. I then but two floor jacks just in front of the rear jack stands as back up while working on the car.
She's up
Now my biggest interest is in gsvette’s experience with Valvoline DCT fluid over time.
