Hi Folks,

After waiting three months and two days, my dealer informed me GM had accepted my order for a Sea Wolf Gray C8 - Z51. One question on the build sheet. Can someone tell me what the subject code means? The order says BC7 "Cover Engine Appearance, Finish 4". I've seen the Torch Red and the Silver engine cover options. What is Finish 4? Incidentally, my quoted delivery time is January 2025. Probably right in the middle of an Upstate New York snow storm!!!!!! Oh the joy!

Thanks for the help.

Zymurgy,

Ordered a coupe. Why would the build sheet offer parts for a convertible? I'll call the dealer tomorrow. Did not order a special engine cover.

Oops, my bad. On the info I posted above regarding option BC7, in addition to the footnote about the convertible engine appearance package, it also indicates that BC7 is standard on coupes. So, no problem, it is correct to have BC7 on your coupe order.

Both me and my salesman say thanks for the update. Find it somewhat disconcerting the "lack" of product knowledge at the dealership. Not just at Chevrolet but Honda and Lexus as well. Oh well.

MOST avg Chevrolet dealerships sell less than 3 or 4 new Corvettes a year compared to 50-60 new trucks and SUV’s/crossovers.
Where might you focus your product knowledge? Something you’d sell everyday or something 2/3’s of your staff will never sell one in a year?

Spent 38 years in the consumer electronics business. Had to know at least the basics about the products I was offering. Guess I assumed all salespeople worked the same way. My bad.!
