I see a lot of people settling on Sport modes 3-5, including myself (Sport 5). Has anyone settled higher than that?
It depends on my mood...I leave it on 3 because I do not want too much throttle for first start..esp. in cold weather...do not want high revs till she warms up...On a good curvy road and a good song on the radio I will turn her up to more than 6...A lot of quick response but do not want to over do it on those sharp curves...So much fun...Its like driving a different car all the timer
Just installed it yesterday. The hype is real, as long as you understand exactly what it does and doesn't do. It definitely fixed the issue I felt with tip in from idle on the stock throttle (in Comfort/Sport or Ludicris). My only problem now is I gotta stop bouncing from one setting to the other. Puts a huge on my face, especially in the higher Sport or Ludicris settings. Haven't tried Drag Race yet.....Bought it used off the forum, so for $150 it was very well worth the cost. Probably gonna opt for the upgraded 91mm Soler throttle body as well, in the hopes it smooths out the throttle transitions even more.
Buy it, wakes the throttle up, is the easiest mod you'll ever do, and one of the best "bang for the buck" improvements you can make.
Sometimes I forget that I have the throttle controller installed until I really hit the gas and get a little whiplash. The main reason for getting it was for the security of disabling the throttle. I will test it tomorrow as I will park my C8 at the airport while I’m off to the Ron Fellow’s Corvette school. The airport security told me the best place to park where there are multiple security checks. Gas pedal is turned off. I’ll let you guys and gals know how it turns out next week.
Yes, it disables the pedal, but the car will still start, idle, and move (very slowly) under it's own power. It's another deterrent, but certainly won't eliminate the risk of theft.

I've found that killing the app and restarting it, rather than rebooting the whole phone, resolves this when won't unlock the pedal.
Does the Solar performance throttle actually reduce the latency or does it just feel like there is less latency due to a steeper throttle curve?
For example, if you were to instantly give the accelerator full throttle in 1ms (not possible but pretend it was possible to depress the accelerator to the floor in ~1ms), both the stock setup and the Solar performance throttle should/would have a new "set point" of highest throttle setting (We can ignore the steeper curve since full throttle was applied in 1ms). Does the actual throttle body open up faster to the full open setting with the Solar performance throttle or would it open up to the full setting in the same amount of time that the stock controller does?
After reading how it is installed it's now obvious that it is just an AtoD and DtoA between the existing pedal and just provides different throttle curve selections so it can't actually reduce the latency, it just remaps the initial shallow stock curve which would indeed feel more responsive with the same throttle movement. I was wondering if it replaced the stock controller which might have had inherent latency for smoothing out throttle transitions but since it sits between it's simply just a AtoDtoA re-mapper.
I hope I’m not the only member to be thinking, “what the hell is “latency” and “AtoDtoA”???
All I know is it “sharpens” the feel of the pedal, specifically on tip in, and the amount of travel needed is less and less the more aggressive the setting…..

AtoD = Analog to Digital or ADC, DtoA = Digital to Analog or DAC. AtoDtoA = Analog to digital to Analog. You should know what latency is, so won't go there..

Agree. I think maybe the term latency was being used loosely though - not in the sense of a delay of the throttle plate reaching the position commanded by the pedal position. But I will suggest that it may be perceived that way. It takes time to push the throttle pedal. So, if you imagine someone is depressing the throttle and it takes 1/2 second to fully depress it, and then plot the throttle plate response to that vs time, the result will look similar to "latency" with respect to how quickly the throttle plate responds - from a perceptions point of view.
The attached charts shows an example of the throttle pedal (in % of full throttle) vs time, along with the resulting response of the throttle plate vs time (in % of full open) vs time for a hypothetical OEM response and a DRG response. I used the explanations from the Soler website that described the OEM response as being 25% at a pedal position of 50%. And I used the plot of the DRG response which showed 100% throttle plate response at a pedal position of 45%. No actual latency was assume here - it assumes that the throttle plate position responds instantly to the pedal position. The only thing taking time is the time it takes to press the pedal to that position. But, from an operator perspective, I think this difference would be perceived as delay in response. Its fractions of a second, but probably noticeable.
Just installed mine today on my 2023 Callaway C8. Problem pairing it to my Android phone.
I will work on that later.
Did get to go for a quick ride in Sport 6 though.
Impressive.

If you still have issues after trying again, try rebooting the phone. If that doesn't work, delete and reinstall the app. I assume you have Bluetooth turned on.
Anyone else notice a slight drop in their MPG rating since installing the Soler TC? At this point, it makes my C8 so much more fun to drive, that it really doesn't matter.

Did both today and now I am up and running. Bluetooth was on from the start.
Thanks

If it's lower, it's only because you're having more fun. For any given pedal movement, it's opening the throttle more, so you may be giving it more actual throttle than you were before. But I would expect any difference just from the Soler to be very small.

The Solar Throttle Controller has zero affect on startup RPM unless you are actually depressing the throttle at startup. I've never depressed the throttle on startup...why would you? Anyway....the throttle controller only affects what the pedal tells the ECU regarding its position. 0% TPS is 0% TPS with or without the Solar product.
Went back to OEM setting for a 10 mi drive.
Acceleration seemed sluggished.
I've said that before... I just don't see how so many are "thrilled" with how it drives...(stock)
Clicked back over to LUD1.
Now it feels smooth, responsive, in the powerband 100% of the time, without notchiness or being jerky.
The difference is night and day!
