I’m under my car right now. I’m having a hell of a time getting this cap off. And I’ve got strong hands. I can’t budget. Anyone have a suggestion. I’ve been doing this for 30 minutes.
and I really don’t wanna grab it with a set of kleins
actually, I found an easy way to get it off, 440 set of channel locks. There’s two little flat edges on the side of the cap, You could gently grab it with the 440s and just rock it gently back-and-forth comes right off.

Just a summation of the DCT filter change.
1. The Foxwell NT 510 elite does do the flush on a 2024.
2. I did not remove the black plastic shield. I just loosened the screws on the back end and got the shear plate off.
3. I could not get the cap off of the DCT filter after a half hour trying to wiggle it free. Then I realize there is two flat edges that I grabbed with a 440 channel locks and very gently rocked it back-and-forth and filter cap came right off.
4. My belly pan was covered in oil after my dealer changed the oil, just goes to show you they don’t really care. Everything cleaned up and done. Biggest part is getting this plate off.
5. You do need to hit the brake pedal the whole 8 minutes of the test .

Keep an eye on the "belly pan". Unless the dealer was a real d*%k there's a good chance the oil maybe coming from a leak on the DCT.

Thus my decision to put a hinged access plate in that allows for plenty of room to change thee DCT Filter, Drain and Re Fill the DCT...... ( Thanks to Vito for the original idea )... Saves removing 42 bolts ! One bolt gives me full access.
I was able to get my DCT Filter Cap off by twisting it back and forth a tiny bit while pulling downward.

Strake's DCT Service access panel.
yeah, the cap on mine wouldn’t budge. And I like the idea of the trap door. I think I’m going to do that next time I take it down.
The belly pan is definitely a pain in the ***

My tech used what I had seen in a 2020 video. I strong pick in the gap between cap and base. Pull on several sides to break lose. The "O" ring is sticking.

Kit comes with new "O" Ring. That is what seals NOT the tightness/torque on the on the cap!
Exactly....... I was able to get my finger nails into that small gap between the cap and the housing. After twisting it 1/8" back and forth, put the finger nails in and pulled down. Off it came........ along with a couple ounces of DCT fluid on me LOL !!!

yeah, this didn’t work for me at all. After messing around, I grabbed the 440 channel locks and on the two flat sides of the cap just grabbed it very gently and it came right off when I rocked it back-and-forth.

Used electrical pliers on the exterior fins on cover and pulled down while twisting .
My solution for getting the cap off was to twist back and forth by hand a little. Then after a few tries of that, use a nylon trim tool to push from the top of one of the screw wings, then move to the other exposed wing and push down. Then twist it back the other way and push down again on the wings with the trim tool. After 3-4 rounds of that, it loosened up and splashed DCT oil on me before I could slide the catch bin over. Lesson learned to be better prepared to catch it.
One tip on the O-ring in the cap. Take your fingers on one side and squeeze as you push around the cap. The O-ring will bulge out of its groove allowing you to grab it with your fingers to remove it. DO NOT stick any tools in the groove to remove the O-ring as a scratch could lead to a leak.
After you remove panel, Use a jig saw with a metal blade ($5.00), cuts like butter and you can cut it on one cut no stop. Just drill a 1/4" pilot hole on one corner and your off! If you cut it out nicely you can re use the piece for your "door" like I informed Rich what I did (see pict). OR Leave it open like the oil filter opening as it's not needed.
I used an Air Tool ( Whizzer) die grinder with a 3" cut off disc to do all the straight line cuts. The Cut off ceramic wheel is 1/16" thick. When it came to the radius in each corner, I used a 1/8" diameter carbide / diamond cut off tool in a Roto Zip tool spinning at high speed . It's like a Dremel tool, but has a base on it so it stays totally perpendicular to the surface.
