C8 price drop?
Anyone getting tired of seeing the videos where "they can't give them away"? In Toronto and being winter time, the prices of new C8's are not dropping. Actually, l can get my money back for my '25 right now minus taxes of course. My buddies look at these videos and ask me if l'm sorry that l bought a C8. How do most of you feel about this?
Me either. Though I second guess many purchases I make I made it and move on... Add, I don't buy a car as an investment or try to predict resale value. I also don't trade my cars in every 2-3 years. I buy it to enjoy it.
I have NEVER bought a car worried about what it may be worth in the future. I know some will disagree, but a C8 Stingray isn’t a collectible car. It IS an incredible car to purchase to drive and enjoy! I’ve already crossed 12K miles in my ‘24 and my goal is to do that every year! Drive these things and enjoy them! I’ll most likely hold on to mine until C9 and if it’s not worth trading, I’ll keep it and have 2 Vettes, or if it’s still worth $20K+, I’ll probably trade it. If you worry about its current or future value, kinda takes the fun away while you drive it…
So true to all of you. This is my 5th Vette and have enjoyed every single one. It's just 2 of my friends that their wives won't allow them to make such a big purchase even though they are comfortable. They seem to come across envious. Thanks for your replies.
Enjoy while you can.

Don't care. Enjoy while you can!
this is exactly my feeling. And I just popped for an X5 M60i , so I’ve got plenty of horsepower in my garage……lol
No one can do anything about falling prices. It is a great time to buy a new C8. There are over 50 at the dealers in my market including Zs and Erays. Great prices for someone to buy their dream car.

Plenty of dealers offering a substantial discount off of MSRP so in effect prices have dropped. However, if you purchase a new car based on future resale value, you may end up disappointed.

I paid full sticker and two months later discounts kicked in. Never gave it a second thought.

Maybe pick up something with very low options and with very big discounts so that helps a bit. If you get a c8 stingray which has an MSRP of 100k with only a 5k discount then yes it's going to hurt. Same with if you're going to get a 160 or 180k fully loaded Z06 then that's going to hurt as well. I always feel the closer you get to base price along with the best discount you can get is a better position to be in if possible. If you're really worried about resale then usually the best cars to get are a reasonable priced and optioned Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, or maybe a Lexus ES 350 from what I feel.

Well, with 150,000+ C8's on the street, something has to give

A piece of sage wisdom handed down to me when I was a kid has stuck with me ever since...
"When we focus too much on how much our material possessions are worth, that is the point when the things we own start to own us."
Another piece of wisdom learned from personal experience...
"Living (as in the act of) is a verb, not a noun, and life is too short not to live it."
When the C8 debuted for the 2020 model year, the prices were inflated by the demand for the car and the ADMs the dealerships were charging. Now, that is not the case, and supply has caught up with demand and perhaps has exceeded demand, except for the impending ZR-1.
I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't buy my Stingray with its future value in mind. I bought it to drive and enjoy. The price drop made it easier for me to upgrade from a 2022 Stingray to a 2025 Stingray. Besides, unless you are a collector like Jay Leno, your car becomes less valuable monetarily when you drive it off the lot or take delivery of it.
Just some of my thoughts on the subject.
