It has been raining for over 5 weeks and Monday was the first dry day with some sunshine here in the Northwest corner of Oregon.
We are lucky to not be frozen like much of the USA today.
The C8 needs to get out of the garage. There is a good fast food restaurant 10 miles away and open highway between here and there, perfect.

I made two observations while I was out for a cruise:
1. This car runs perfect. It is flawless. It drives so smooth, I love everything about it.
2. I forgot how some things work. I have been driving my wife's Blazer for 5 weeks, now everything is different.
When I pulled into the garage, I forgot how to turn the car off, do I push this button? On the Blazer EV you put it in Park, and get out.
Then I pushed the wrong button on the door and screwed up my exit position. I just laugh, winter is half over.
That just proves one thing, I need to get out and drive more often.

I also need a refresher, car has been sitting for weeks on the trickle charger and I have been driving other vehicles.
I was at Spring Mountain on Dec. 18th and 19th so getting back into the C-8 will definitely be a much better experience.
I wait until we have at 50 degrees and dry conditions or I will not take Mine out for very long and I will not run it very hard when it is cool due to the Sport tires.
I am up in Wa, state and really this climate has been pretty mellow so far this season.

Funny how you could own and drive a car for years but once it sits in hibernation for a few months, it takes a while to get familiar with the features on the car.

You can lose the “muscle memory” to drive a particular car when you have either been driving something different for a while or you’ve been out of commission. When I had my open heart surgery, I went six weeks without driving at all. With my knee replacement, I went seven weeks. Had to take the time to get my sea legs when driving again on both occasions.

It's rumored one can drive a Corvette in the rain. I don't know, just sayin'...

Not true. Those wide tires hydroplane in standing water. Not recommended. Plus the hours it would take to clean it up, and the mess in the garage from having a wet car.
I would rather wait.

I usually plug in the charger on the weekend, and take it off Monday. That's how I count the weeks in the winter.
The way I look at it, winter is half over. Another month it will be time to start waxing and polish to get ready for spring, and a full interior detail job.

Yes, my memory can be very weak so I need to be reminded quite often on how the vehicle drives and how it makes me feel. I guess it's human nature at the same time since we get sidetracked and pulled away to focusing on so many other things throughout the day and then it snowballs and piles up if it stretches out to be multiple days away from the vehicle.

When mine comes out of the garage in March, it's like a whole new car experience again!

The shift buttons/levers are not intuitive for me. I've caught myself in Reverse thinking I was in Drive after backing up several times.. Also the same with hitting the off button before putting it in Park.

I hope I’m not alone with this one. After driving my C5 manual for a couple of days then jump in my wife’s Mustang auto I will nearly kill myself by stepping on the brake pedal where the clutch pedal should be.

Well after driving 9k miles across the country in rain and sun and from experience you are wrong. Drive it. If it rains turn on the wipers and set to weather. Then drive like its raining.

A couple years ago I went to the bash, and drove through some really heavy rain, and had zero issues withe the Michelin PS4 summer tires. It's a lot better in the rain than my AMG was.
