I’m looking at a 2022 LT2
C8 to purchase, but the prior owner has put a C8 engine cover on the engine.
In other words, I can’t view the engine at all. It has this flat black cover on it. Picture attached.
1. Why would someone do this? I’m thinking so help with sounds etc
2. Is it easy to remove and put the C8 Corvette red cover on it.
any info would be appreciated

Factory version 2 clear engine cover now available.. Paragon has one .. then I think there are others too. It still limits the view, but, you do see the intake pretty good.
That is the way they it came from the factory. The original owner didn't do anything. As noted, there are several clear window covers that you can buy to replace the original solid cover.

Yes. I would feel motivated to start dressing up the engine for car shows and I promised my wife I would leave this Corvette - my 5th one - stock. No mods!!

Sherry - as others have said, what you posted is the stock panel over the engine. A number of vendors, including GM, offers a modified panel with a clear window in it so the engine can be viewed.
