On August 4th, I ordered (with deposit) a 2025 C8 Z51 Coupe from a local dealer. I'm still waiting! Received an e-mail in December stating Chevy was preparing to build my car. Understand the factory was closed from December 16 through January 6th, Does my choice of Sea Wolf Gray have any affect on production? Is the dealer stalling? How about the nose lift system? The black / red interior? Anyone have a reasonable answer as to why it has taken so long?
In your case your dealer didn't have an allocation apparently and therefore your order was in line waiting at the dealer. Finally in December your order was accepted and you may be looking at 6 weeks or so.
Also it depends on GM constraints. right now, I think the only black wheels are under constraints. Your dealer should be able to give you all the information and ask if they have open Allocation for your vette or how many people are in front of you. Any dealer worth your business should give you this information.
I went with MacMulkin sent despot on 12/2 and already (with 3 weeks shutdown) at 3000 Order accepted by production.
I am tracking my experience for other to see here: c8 order through Macmulkin experience - CorvetteForum - Chevrolet Corvette Forum Discussion

Although perhaps a bit longer due to the shutdown.

Probably not. Dealer clearly did not lay out the facts when the OP ordered. No reason to think they will now.
They said the reason it took from August till December was they didn't have an allocation. The December note from Chevy said they were ready to build my car. Thanks for the reply.
My order for my 2025 1LT (With the black wheels, 20 Spoke Gloss Black) went in last week, was picked up this Monday and was already at 3000 status yesterday. So mine is moving along nicely.
The dealer have to give you a build code if your order was accepted by GM. I dealt with Mac Mulkin and went smoothSep 17 Order accepted by Chevrolet (2000)
Oct 29 Order accepted by production control (3000)
Other than the original order form with the build codes, I have only received one communication from GM and that was the acknowledgement my car was ready to build. The dealer claims to have no other information. I'm a very patient person yet this whole process is straining it. It's only the lack of communication! February 4th will be SIX Months. Thanks for your input. Enjoy your Vette!!!
It seem that your dealership is not familiar with the process. There are several dealers that are invested in their customers, one of them been Mac Mulkin Chevrolet in NH and Rick Conti with Coughlin Chevrolet. Pass the word and help your friend avoid those headaches and frustration.
My dealer claims to be America's Number One volume Chevrolet dealer. Early in October they had eight 2025 C8's on the lot at the location I ordered the car. Within a couple of weeks, they were all gone!!! Preordered? Sold to other dealers? I have no idea and they weren't telling. I originally was going to order a 2025 Lotus Emira. Same color combo. Same basic equipment right down to the 20" wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 4 tires. Lotus sticker roughly 20K more. Nearest dealer 5 HOURS away. Nearest Chevy dealer? 5 MINUTES away. Easy choice!
Which dealer told you they were number the 1 Corvette dealer in the USA? The answer to that question is MacMulkin in New Hampshire. They currently as of today have 238 new C8's on the lot, no one else is even close
The dealer will have a LOT more information specific to your question than anyone here. I got lucky with my sales guy, he called/emailed monthly from day one and once my vette went into production he updated me weekly. That may sound like a lot but I really appreciated his effort.
