Seat concerns
After reading a few of the seat threads on here, I went to the nearest Chevy dealer to try out the competition vs the GT2 last weekend, since I am only considering the 3LZ trim. And I felt fine in either of them, not my favorite seats of all time, but wasn't uncomfortable. I even played around with the bolster adjustment, but the bladders seemed to just push me out of the seat, not make me feel more secure. They felt best fully deflated.
I am 5' 8", 175, 33" waist. I still have some muscle mass left but not a body builder by any stretch. I should fit perfectly in any car. And I have driven many aggressive sports cars at length. Exige S240, Evora GT, Gallardo, Huracan, Ariel Atom 4S, and a Porsche Spyder, and I've never had a complaint about any seat before. The C6 seats had horrendous support but they were at least comfortable for long trips.
Yesterday, I drove my friend's new Z51 1LT down my local windy road and I couldn't really get comfortable in the seat. I felt on the seat, not in the seat. The side bolsters poked into my lats and after 20-25 minutes of driving, I wasn't in pain, but I was definitely ready to to get out. I then hopped into another friend's Civic Type R (which I drove 3 hours from the dealer in Houston last month) and it was night and day, both infinitely more comfortable and way more supportive.
I chalked the discomfort up to being the 1LT GT1 seats, but it was nagging me that they were that bad and those seats by all accounts are the least aggressive option. So I stopped by a GMC dealer today that had a used 3LZ, and I had the same issue. The bolsters poke me in the lats, preventing me from sitting all the way against the back of the seat comfortably.
Has anyone else experienced this? I am thinking the side bolsters are meant to fit under your lats and I am just not tall enough to clear them, but I am sure there are shorter guys and certainly shorter women driving C8s out there. Is there an adjustment I am missing?

There are so many adjustments!.. I tried a seat pad to lift my *** up so the curve of the lumbar support fit better. No help... .. I cut pads 1/8" thick just the size of the back pad next to the upright. I used 8 of them so I could raise my but 1" but in increments. .. I was finally able to get comfy, and after a while when all the other adjustments got set, remove that padding.
Along the way I used both presets, 1) as an upright, attentive setting, and 2) as a more laid back relaxed driving style... and switched back and forth on long (2 hour or more) drives. I've since settled on setting #1 after a coast to coast trip and back.. 8 to 10 hours a day over the course of 10 driving days.
I've had the car for nearly 4 years and was making a minor adjustment even today. .. .. ..

I drove My car home from Kentucky and the last day I ran 1120 miles and I was not stiff or even sore from sitting in the seat for most of the day.
You get them properly adjusted and you have a very ergonomic design that works great for open road touring.

That’s one way to do it.
