Is there a recommendation regarding routine service for the C8. I just got a bill from Watson Chevrolet for over $1800 for an oil change, filter, transmission service, rear axle service, and air filter. This for a 3year old C8 in excellent condition and less than 6,000 miles.
What specifically was the "transmission service". Filter and fluid change for the DCT is expensive. If it was filter only, you overpaid. If it was filter and fluid change, the price was reasonable given everything else done. Your Owner's Manual has the service requirements.

filter, fluid and $775 just for the transmission service. They said the rear axils required fluid per the computer as did the air filter.
Post a copy of the work order showing what was done, parts/fluids used, time, etc. That will allow us to completely understand what was done and give you guidance.
At 3 years, it was due for DCT fluid change. Hopefully you have had the engine oil/filter changed per the OLM which would require at least every 12 months.
I just had my oil/filter changed.
Labor rate was $200/hr; they charged me $44.95 labor.
Filter was $6.00 as yours
Charged me for 8 quarts = $79.60; yours was 7 qts.
Then $6.74 enviro chg.
Total was $137.29 + tax = $144.91
No mention of rear axle service.
We are sort at the mercy of the dealers.
The only thing that is suspicious to me is the "axle flush". Never heard of it.
They used the correct oil and DCT fluid. They also used correct oil filter and DCT filter. Their labor rate of $189 is reasonable. The DCT fluid is expensive unless you buy it yourself from RockAuto. Their charges are reasonable.
I have had my car serviced every 12 months, including oil changes and filter at Watson Chevrolet. Nothing like this bill.
I bet you've never had the DCT service before. That is $1330 of your total. Plus the bogus axle flush of $185. Those 2 items are $1515 of your total, not including tax and shop fee. Oil/filter change was $148 which is probably similar to your previous service visits. There's no question that the DCT service is not cheap.

I can understand your surprise at the total cost. But it doesn't take long to run up the costs when you have $775 in labor alone for the transmission service and another $520 in parts for that service.

I believe the fluid in the eDiff is the same as the transmission and is flushed when the trans service is performed. If the “computer” said the rear axle needed fluid, it sounds like a code may have been stored for the “Rear Axle Off”. If that’s the case then it should have been covered by warranty.
If not, I’m surprised they left the below service off your order……
I pay $130 for oil change and $640 for the trans service at Sands Chevy in Surprise, AZ. Sands is working hard to become the premier Corvette dealer in the Valley.

Good to know thanks. Surprise is not too long with our new 202 Westside to I10 freeway
When you say Trans Service does that include DCT filter and fluid?
